I have a Dhikr which really helps thru tough times. Repeat often and remember your Creator:
Subhanallah ul-Ali ul-Azeem Subhanallah Al-Ghafur Ur-Raheem
repeat 100x or however many and turn your attention fully to the glorification of the One who is Most Deserving of Glorification
Alhamdulillah!
This will taken your mind and heart completely off dunya and into Allah. Allah is the Pure while the dunya is mixed with pure and impure (see the ayat about grapes from which we derive wholesome fruit and also khamr. This works because your mind can focus either on creation and limitation which is Sorrow or you can focus your mind on Creator who is Unlimited, Exalted beyond all measure. Do this practice every day and you will feel immediately one thing: your Ruh which is from Allah which Allah gave you will start shivering and trembling before Allah’s Glory (SWT) and you will find infinite spiritual strength. I will further state that depression is not a dua deficiency because you can pray all day for things to change but Allah will not change them or give you the thing you asked for except when it is truly beneficial, rather it is a Dhikr deficiency
Stop asking Allah to give you things and nagging Allah for a change and instead do Dhikr and turn your mind to Allah because Allah is far more than enough to cure your depression. At the root of depression is a subtle kind of kufr or arrogance, it is to reject the mercy of Allah and to fail to recognise Allah while Allah is calling you 24/7. Rather than focusing on impurities be like the innocent angels of the Throne who glorify Allah 24/7 and you will feel all your sorrow washed away
Remember: Surely in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.
